What You Will Do Kenvue is looking for a Junior EHS Engineer to participate in the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental, Health, and Safety systems, to improve employee working conditions and reduce environmental impacts at our Cape Town site.
Key Responsibilities Actively participate in defining the EHS system and maintaining it to achieve EHS objectives.Contribute to the development of regulatory compliance plans and continuous improvement projects related to EHS.Participate in the deployment of EHS objectives for the site - auditing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting on their implementation and effectiveness by preparation dashboards, reports & management reviews.Act as the EHS reference for other departments and regulatory bodies.Create, update, and maintain the operating and work instructions for EHS.Continuously update the EHS management system.Participate in the verification of compliance with EHS regulations and Kenvue standards.Support management in contact with authorities in EHS relevant areas.Support the EHS Site Lead in identification of business impacts of EHS and changes to regulations.Execute the Regional & Internal Audit program and ensure timely corrective actions are taken when EHS hazards are identified.Collaborate and participate in various EHS committees.Carry out risk assessments.Collaborate to maintain local ISO certifications (and other voluntary certifications, VPP/OHSAS).Facilitate, implement, plan, and produce material for internal training in EHS, for contractors and fire safety.Develop relationships with other functions (e.g., engineering, facilities) to ensure EHS aspects are considered at the beginning of new/changing operations and to manage aspects of external manufacturers, suppliers and contractor programs.Participate in the analysis of incidents and accidents and contribute to the associated action plans.Participate in the definition and execution of CAPA.Seek innovative approaches to drive continuous improvement in safety culture and overall EHS program effectiveness.Organize evacuation exercises and participate in fire risk prevention, including evaluating risks and following up on internal action plans.Participate in the assigned trainings.Spend a minimum of 40% of operational time on the shop floor.Execute all Waste upliftment's, tracking data and ensure destruction certificates are supplied by service providers.What We Are Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent in Engineering or a related field (or STEAM).4-5 years of professional experience in a similar role.Proactive approach to EHS initiatives.Proficient in EHS Risk Assessment, able to recognize and assess EHS hazards and risks.Proficient in EHS Risk Control, able to prevent, eliminate, reduce or mitigate EHS risks through a hierarchy of controls.Proficient in EHS Risk Compliance, identify, analyze, communicate and manage compliance and conformance.Proficient in EHS Management Systems, design, prescribe and assess a consistent framework of interdependent processes that supports execution of the Kenvue EHS policy.Proficient in EHS Communication and Training, design, deliver and manage communications and training programs.Familiar with Product Stewardship, Sustainability and Stakeholder Management.What's In It For You Paid Company Holidays, Paid Vacation, Volunteer Time, Summer Fridays & More!Learning & Development Opportunities.Employee Resource Groups.Kenvue is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
