Company DescriptionWe have an exciting role for a Drill & Blast Supervisor. The individual will be responsible for supervising a drill & blast team to deliver safe production targets on shift, that are consistent with agreed performance measures, and in-line with the daily, weekly and monthly plans of the broader operation/site. This is a fixed Term role.

Job DescriptionJob responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Communicating information to the team online up meetings regarding safety issues, targets, quality, drilling best practices and costs.Communicating and sharing drill and blast performance.Advising on required drilling and blast parameters (air pressure, feed pressure and rotation pressure, effective GET, explosive densities and VOD).Recording all specified inspections required by the Minerals Act.Submitting all checklists or formal controls required for the operation of hazardous machinery and equipment.Developing drilling risk assessments, drilling procedures, check lists, drilling reports and drilling checklists.Completing and presenting quality performance (individual performance and blast performance).Obtaining and communicating operational statistics to the production teams i.e. (Production, Safety, Attendance, Efficiencies, Zero Tolerance compliance).Communicating relevant information about production achievements and/or production delays to the relevant parties.Assisting during breakdowns or emergencies and co-ordinating support from other disciplines.Encouraging co-operation and teamwork between maintenance and operational personnel.Monitoring material usage and ensuring that the use of reclaimed material is optimised.Engaging expertise in problem solving beyond the scope of work in the area responsibility.Co-ordinating the activities of the haulage servicemen allocated to the area.Ensuring continuous improvement.Drill and blast quality assurance and performance.Ensuring accurate technical data and daily check on drilling management systems.Analysing drilling performance data and identifying opportunities for improvement.Compiling accurate shift report and analyse to interpret trends.Checking shifts, operator, and rig performance.Executing delivery of the sustainability activities as relevant to discipline and set out in the Life of Asset Plan to improve sustainability performance over time.Implementing management processes for employee & contractor management within work area.Providing direct development coaching and appropriate feedback to individuals and teams.This role is at a band 7 level reporting to the Drilling Superintendent. QualificationsGrade 12 with Maths & ScienceValid Blasting Assistant CertificateA tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or similar related engineering AdvantageousShift Supervisor Certificate will be advantageousBlasting Certificate will be advantageousImportant: applications without qualification related attachments and certificates related to the role will NOT be considered.
