DIRECTOR OF INFRASTRUCTURE | ENERGY
Location: Cape Town, SA
Contract: 2 YEAR CONTRACT (Sub-Con Agreement) – Start Immediately!
Salary: R1 – R1.5K Per Annum Negotiable based on Qualification and Years of relevant experience
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage energy programmes and projects.
Facilitate and manage the alignment between all relevant stakeholder interests within the energy sector.
Monitor and oversee the performance of implementing agents contracted by their Client to deliver on their Energy Resilience Programme strategy.
Evaluation of municipal support requirements.
Source and communicate energy sector intelligence.
Strategic Management.
People Management.
Financial Management and coordinating budget management of the energy resilience projects.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience required:
Required:
An appropriate NQF8 or higher tertiary qualification (4-year B-Degree / B-Degree + Hons) in the field of Engineering, Science, Resource Management, Commerce, Economics, Sustainability, Climate Change and/or Environmental Science or other equivalent qualification. Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
10 years' experience in the Energy sector with a minimum of 5 years at a management level; and 3 years' experience in public procurement of project financed infrastructure projects at national or sub-national level (e.g. PPPs, PPAs, PFMA, MFMA, MSA procurement). The level of experience (ideally 3 or more years) must be in the South African renewable energy industry, public or private (e.g. PPA, REIPPPP, IPP Office, IPPs, project developers, lenders).
Preferred:
Post graduate qualification or equivalent in the fields above.
Experience in developing, co-ordinating and managing the implementation of energy related strategies.
Knowledge and understanding on the South African electrical distribution and transmission network.
Extensive stakeholder management experience in the energy sector, across multiple spheres of government, the private sector and academia.
Experience / ability in sourcing and communicating energy sector intelligence (including research, dissemination & application) including experience with commercialisation of technology and services.
Management experience (Human Resource & Financial Management).
Knowledge and understanding on Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and how it affects South Africa and particularly the Western Cape (desirable).
