Job Purpose: The Digitech Assurance Director will be responsible for overseeing the IT audit function, digital transformation and implementing data analytics activities within SNG Grant Thornton. This involves assessing and reviewing our clients IT systems, controls, and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Additionally, the Digitech Assurance Director will be responsible for leveraging data analytics tools and techniques to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of audit procedures, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement. 1. BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITIESGive input into the strategic direction of the organisation / businessDevelop and maintain the IT audit strategy and roadmap for the firm, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and risk management framework.Focus on growth strategiesAlign strategy of talent to the strategy of the departmentLead and mentor a team of IT auditors, providing guidance and support in executing audits and ensuring the timely completion of audit assignmentsDevelop and implement digitisation strategies including data analytics strategies to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns within audit data, enhancing audit procedures' precision and relevance.Collaborate with audit teams to integrate data analytics into the overall audit approach, leveraging automation tools, data visualization, and analytics techniques.Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes related to IT audit and data analytics, driving innovation and continuous improvement.Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to clients IT systems and recommend appropriate control measures.Manage strategic projectsCollaborate with internal stakeholders, such as IT departments, risk management, and compliance teams, to identify control gaps and facilitate the implementation of corrective actions.Train and educate audit staff on IT audit methodologies, data analytics tools, techniques, and emerging trends, enhancing their skills and knowledge in these areas.Prepare and present audit findings, recommendations, and reports to senior management and audit committees, facilitating decision-making and promoting transparency.Monitor budgets for the year. 2. PEOPLE AND LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIESBuild and lead a high-performing team of Digitech Assurance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders and directors, to identify and address their IT and data analytics needs, ensuring alignment with their strategic goals.As and when interaction is required to meet with the MD and service line leadersFeedback on progress and projects to MD on weekly/monthly basisLead, energise and inspire peopleEstablish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiencyEmpower staff and train othersFoster a culture of continuous improvement within the Digitech Assurance team, encouraging innovation and seeking out opportunities to enhance processes and technologies.Manage the performance of staffTraining of staff Minimum Qualifications & Experience:Minimum 5 years' experience as a CA (SA)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CRISC) would be advantageous.Preferred: 10-15 years' experience in managing client relationships Professional Registration Requirements:Essential : SAICA (SA Institute for Chartered Accountants)CISAPreferred: IRBA (Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors)
