Diesel Mechanic

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Duties may include performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and conducting inspections to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair diesel engines, as well as mechanical and electrical systems on vehicles and equipmentPerform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checksTroubleshoot and identify mechanical issues, and develop repair plansConduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and regulationsKeep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performedFollow manufacturer guidelines for repairs and maintenance proceduresTest drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairsRequirementsGrade 12 or similar qualificationTrade Test Certificate as a Diesel MechanicMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience in diesel mechanics, preferably within the mining or heavy machinery sectorStrong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issuesProficient in using tools and diagnostic equipmentGood communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentValid driver's licenseWillingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environmentExperience with vehicles such as Excavators, Loaders, Fork-lifts, Side loaders, Trucks, Tractors, LDVs.CAT machines experience with KRESS & TML attachments is a plus.Advanced Hydraulic and Auto Electrical experience required.Workshop and Field Work: Preventative, breakdown, and planned maintenance.Shift Work and Standby Duty may be required.Overtime as needed.Forklift and Overhead Crane Licences are a plus.Contact Hire Resolve for your next career-changing move.Salary: negotiable.
