Designer - Green Thread Design Studio

Job Description Our Design Centre Team has a new and exciting opportunity available for an experienced, agile, flexible, and driven Women's Wear Designer to join the design team. This position is in our pre-production operation design studio that works closely with the Pattern Maker and Sample Machinist of our Leisure Design Centre division.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to align with the company's vision, brand profile, be self-motivated, and actively involved in the end-to-end process in the applicable area of responsibility. In addition, the successful candidate should have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting, and dynamic retail environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: Main report structure is to the Head of Design and working on the Poetry Brand to deliver seasonal trends and CAD designs briefs with detail, fabrics, trims, and tech packs (Illustrator) in accordance with the strategy for the portfolio.Work closely with pattern makers, sample machinist, and pre-production to factory team.Critical path management.Compile design requirements and specifications along with Technical Drawings.CAD new designs with relevant detail for the local manufacturing team.Collaborate with Fabric Team to create aligned pieces for the collection.Ability to brief pattern makers and see through the development of styles with the sample team.Trends presentation and research for new styling.Create Mood boards and Colour palettes.Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric Qualification.Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Women's Fashion Design is an important prerequisite.Previous Designer experience and ability to design for an elevated womenswear Brand.Working knowledge and experience with Adobe Suite (Illustrator) is non-negotiable.Preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of garment construction/manufacturing.Good Fabric and Trim knowledge.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Will be required to travel within the region and therefore a valid driver's license and own vehicle are advantageous.Job Related Behavioral Competencies: Ability to take direction and follow instructions from the Head of Design.Team Player and ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.An eye for color and a good understanding of color theory.Excellent Communication skills.Ability to work independently and use initiative.Resilient and tenacious in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively.Ability to work in a pressurized and fast-paced environment.Deadline and outcomes focused.Methodical, detail-oriented, and accurate.Flexible, agile, and multi-tasked.
