Key PurposeActs as the technical owner of a set of Communications Systems. Manages the relationship with Technical Systems owners, and ensures that both Business and Systems objectives are reflected in the technical processes which they manage. Assist in managing a team of specialist resources, specifically resourcing and scheduling in the SDLC processes, specifically in an Agile team. Managing a project or set of projects in a program related to their systems portfolio. Ensuring that the system capabilities and processes remain adaptive to emerging client needs in its lifetime.
Areas of ResponsibilityClient Relationship Management & Networking Ensuring alignment to business requirements, and building trust with clients by displaying managerial competenceUnderstanding business requirements, business systems and process context, impact and risksParticipating in client forums, MANCO, EXCO, planning/strategy sessions, reportingActing as Consultant to the internal clientInterfacing to other teams where requiredInterfacing to external clients, vendors where requiredDelivery and Support of Specific Applications Management of activities within the SDLC (process owner)Participating and enabling the business Prioritisation processScheduling and prioritisation of tasks and resourcesCoordinate: Build, Test, Deliver, Fix, Change RequestsCapacity management: delegation of tasks, review of execution, and providing feedback to team membersResolution and prevention of issuesTechnical Capacity, Quality and Standards Ensures that the Technical Application capacity exists for a particular set of systemsPreventing technical issues from arising by proactive managementProduce and enable a Capacity Plan for the ApplicationEnsuring adherence to Quality, Standards, SLA adherence, adherence to PM and SDLC standardsMaking recommendations for the improvement of the SDLC, PM or ITIL processesProject Management of Projects Acting as a Project Manager for selected projectsDelivering specific projects to produce internal or external capacityManagement of activities within the SDLC (Acting as process owner)Participating and enabling the business prioritisation processScheduling and prioritising tasks and resourcesTaking ownership of production issues and driving to resolutionAdherence to Quality, Standards, SLA's and SDLC standardsHuman Capital Management Ensures that human capacity exists in the team being managedDriving the skills development of team members, coaching of team members for performance, and coaching on career developmentRecruitment, staff training, conflict management and creating a welcoming working environmentPerformance management (objective setting, feedback, appraisals, incentives and bonuses, addressing poor performance)Personal Attributes and SkillsDrives ResultsPassion for delivery and qualityValues DrivenLearns on the FlyResilientInstils TrustPeople SavvyLeadership SkillsStrategic AgilityManages complexityBalances StakeholdersEducation and ExperienceEducation: MatricTertiary degree (B.
