Maximise your skills in route optimisation, operations coordination, and geographic knowledge to plan and schedule the most efficient and cost-effective distribution routes. From analysing distribution data to coordinating with drivers and ensuring on-time deliveries, you will drive the weekly distribution schedules, coordinating the planning amongst the internal departments to ultimately ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
Technology Integration
Route & Fleet Software Champion – spearhead the integration of the new route optimisation software and increase planning efficiency.
Training staff on its use, promoting a culture of innovation within the team.
Optimise Routing
Manage the scheduling of over 100 daily routes, ensuring timely deliveries across multiple regions.
Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges like stock shortages, vehicle breakdowns, or last-minute orders.
Re-optimise routes and plans to ensure the company distributes within budget, whilst meeting customer demand and managing the integrity of our inventory.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the logistics, production, finance, and admin teams to streamline processes and enhance communication.
Facilitate weekly meetings to discuss distribution schedules and route performance and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Identify and escalate resource constraints (fleet, drivers, stock etc.) timeously to allow various departments to react and mobilise to meet operational demand.
Performance Tracking & Data Maintenance
Monitor, track, and report on route performance.
Conduct in-depth analysis of delivery metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Leverage data analytics tools to track performance and make informed recommendations to management.
Custodian of Master Data & Working Lists – responsible for maintaining the integrity of data.
Cost Reduction
Identify opportunities to reduce delivery costs and improve operational efficiency.
Hold various departmental leads accountable to reduce delivery costs and improve operational efficiency by way of cost analysis reporting.
Non-negotiable skills & qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in the logistics industry, specifically in route planning and optimisation.
Degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
Experience in scenario modelling & data analysis is NON-NEGOTIABLE.
Proven proficiency in using logistics software and tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high levels of attention to detail.
