Data Analysts are responsible for the collection, manipulation, and management of our economic timeseries data, as well as helping to develop new methodologies, content sets, and products, and developing deep subject matter expertise to support internal and external users of the data. The role will interface with teams across Data Ops and the wider CDO as well as groups in Fitch Ratings and Fitch Solutions, and will sit alongside and support our market-leading research team spanning offices in London, New York, Singapore, and Pretoria.What We Offer:Close collaboration with Research Analysts who possess deep knowledge of the energy, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors.Work closely with colleagues across New York, London, Singapore, and Pretoria offices.Supportive environment in which to develop your knowledge and skills.Exposure to a wide variety of economic data and methodologies.Opportunity to develop a specialized area of interest or skill set within the team.We'll Count on You To:Efficiently gather, manipulate, and analyze time-series data, and develop expertise on the sources and methodologies behind the numbers.Run forecast models and review model output while constantly seeking ways to further improve our models and methodologies.Collaborate with research analysts to ensure accurate and timely data in our products, and use the expertise you acquire to develop new content sets and products.Authoritatively respond to internal and external queries regarding our data sets and methodologies.Work with internal and external teams to liaise on data capture requirements and delivery timelines.Manipulate, transport, and structure data sets into user-friendly dashboards within Excel.What You Need to Have:Undergraduate degree in economics, statistics, or similar.Academic or professional experience working with macroeconomic data.Proficiency in Excel including commonly used formulas and techniques.Exposure to economic forecasting and understanding of basic methodologies.What Would Make You Stand Out:Programming experience, especially VBA, Python, and SQL; experience utilizing APIs.Deep knowledge of energy, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors.Experience applying specific time-series forecasting methodologies.Understanding of data governance principles and workflow management.Strong communication and organizational skills.A positive attitude and enthusiasm for problem-solving.Why Fitch?At Fitch Group, the combined power of our global perspectives is what differentiates us.
