Our client is seeking an experienced Culinary Kitchen Manager to join the Grahamstown team,
· Oversee and manage allaspects of the kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking,plating, and food safety standards.
· Develop and enforce kitchenpolicies and procedures to ensure smooth operations, cleanliness, andefficiency.
· Coordinate with therestaurant management team to ensure seamless coordination between the kitchenand front-of-house staff.
· Monitor inventory levels,order supplies, and maintain proper stock levels to support daily operations
· Collaborate with theexecutive chef and culinary team to create innovative and enticing menus thatalign with our restaurant's concept and target audience.
· Conduct regular menu reviewsand updates to introduce seasonal dishes and maintain a diverse and appealingmenu selection.
· Ensure consistent qualityand presentation of dishes through regular training, recipe standardization,and food tasting sessions
· Recruit, train, andsupervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and food preparationassistants.
· Conduct regular trainingsessions to enhance culinary skills, knowledge of food safety standards, andadherence to recipes and plating guidelines.
· Schedule shifts and managestaffing levels to optimize productivity while considering business demands andlabor costs
· Uphold and enforce strictfood safety and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations and bestpractices.
· Monitor kitchen operationsto ensure compliance with sanitation and cleanliness protocols, includingproper storage, labeling, and handling of food products.
· Conduct regular inspectionsand audits to identify and address any potential health and safety riskspromptly
Requirements · Formal culinary education and relevant certifications areadvantageous.
· Minimum of 3 - 5 years ofexperience in culinary management, preferably in a high-volume restaurantsetting.
· Call order system experience
· Proven track record ofsuccessfully managing kitchen operations, leading a team, and deliveringexceptional food quality.
· Extensive knowledge ofvarious cooking techniques, culinary trends, and international cuisines.
· Strong understanding of foodsafety and sanitation practices, as well as local regulations.
· Excellent leadership skills,with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a diverse kitchen team.
· Exceptional organizationaland time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in computer systems and software forinventory management and menu planning is desirable.
