Our client is seeking a skilled and experience Country Manager to join their team based in Namibia.
Responsibilities: Effective and efficient management of the companies in country which includes operations (Liner, Logistics and Non-Liner), finance, working capital management, HR, QHSSE, Sales and Commercial, Business Development and Compliance & Ethics.
Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to the affiliate in line with the overall OMA' Strategic Plan.
Corporate governance.
Increase productivity and profitability and to positively project the brand OMA in the Country.
Represent the company in the Country.
Create and promote an environment, with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure efficient and effective general management and co-ordination of operations in all activities.
Ensure that the necessary human resource and operational infrastructure is in place to ensure that operations runs smoothly.
Responsible for the overall profitability of company and internal control.
Preparing and presenting budget reports as per deadline set by group.
Ensure that monthly flash & management accounts reports are submitted on time to the Group.
Ensure effective cost control and always have cost cutting initiates.
Responsible for effective and efficient working capital management.
Ensure that cash is managed and controlled.
Ensure that all bank accounts are used and controlled effectively i.e.
bank signatories.
All dormant bank accounts to be closed.
Ensuring that invoicing done in a timely manner.
Settling affiliates/subsidiaries balances every month Ensure that monthly (a) cashflow forecasts (b) debtors reports (c) job ageing reports are submitted on time to the Group.
Ensure that annual bank status reports are submitted on time.
Communicate any cash requirements from the Group well in advance for planning purposes.
Communicate excess cash to the Group.
Responsible for safe-guarding and maintaining company assets.
Ensure that insurance is in place for all assets.
Ensure that company assets are used efficiently, to ensure maximum return of asset and investments.
Ensure annual financial audits are completed by Group deadline.
Responsible for internal control and that the Group Authorization Matrix is adhered to.
In conjunction with the Group Sales & Commercial Director promote, further develop and manage all aspects of the Company's sales & commercial activities and business development with existing customers as well as with potential new customers.
Have an intimate knowledge of your office's capabilities to serve customers' requirements in all business areas.
Review country presentation annually and update where necessary, especially contact details for key personnel including Country Manager, GM, Dept.
heads etc.
Verify details on website and App are also correct.
Plan visits to existing foreign & local customers including those with poor payments record and prepare a travel budget accordingly.
Ensure that company statutory documents and annual filing to Company Registrar is up to date, which includes (but not limited to) company registry, director's details, shareholder's details, board meeting minutes, Annual General Meeting minutes and any other statutory documents required by local authorities (Company Registrar).
Conducting business in full compliance with all national and international laws, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal standards.
Report any HSSE incident to the Group.
Ensure that employee performance management system is in place.
Guarantee employee commitment and satisfaction through an attractive condition of service in line with the market.
Skills: Good skill in MS software.

Qualifications: Degree in shipping or logistics related subject.
Professional membership eg.
Nautical Institute, ICS.
Minimum 5 years in shipping or logistics related business.
