Location: Clayville, Gauteng About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to drive the Warehouse strategy and support the implementation of business plans aimed at achieving long-term growth. This role is critical in building process, system, and people capabilities to meet evolving business needs. Key Responsibilities:Strategy Deployment:Develop and execute a comprehensive warehouse strategy and business plan, leveraging insights and expertise to optimize operations.Lead annual and seasonal planning to align resources with activity levels, ensuring exceptional customer service.Manage the warehouse center of excellence, ensuring best practices and driving cost efficiencies through strategic projects, including centralization of automated picking.Develop and oversee the warehouse budget, allocating funds effectively to achieve operational goals.Drive continuous improvement in warehouse solutions and integration with other business units. Operational Management:Assess current warehouse operations and develop innovative solutions for improvement.Establish standard operating practices that align with business governance requirements.Share operational best practices across regions and engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.Provide leadership and direction to teams, fostering a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement.Oversee stock management and ensure compliance with audit requirements. Digital Transformation:Spearhead the logistics digital transformation agenda, identifying and implementing new digital solutions that enhance business outcomes.Collaborate with IT and vendors to forecast digital advancements and ensure alignment with the overall business strategy.Manage projects from conception to realization, focusing on optimizing the logistics value chain through technology. Candidate Requirements:An Honours Degree in Business Management, Logistics, or Transport.15 to 20 years of experience in the logistics industry, with a minimum of 10 years in senior line management roles.Proficiency in logistics and business software systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a significant advantage.Previous experience in large logistics or reputable FMCG companies is essential. Accountabilities:Successful execution of warehouse strategy deployment and performance metrics.Management of warehouse budgets and digital transformation initiatives. Additional Information: This is a high-level position overseeing logistics, warehousing, stock management, and customer engagement. Candidates must be seasoned professionals with a proven track record in large logistics or FMCG organizations.
