Logistics Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primarily oversee all logistics operations within South Africa for exporting perishable products. Coordinate container bookings and quantities to ensure efficient and effective loading. Liaise directly with cold storage facilities, including farms, regarding volumes, loading schedules, loading times, and inspections. Conduct forecasting throughout the season to facilitate efficient planning and volume management. This includes forecasting for:

GEO temperature monitoring devices
Container volumes per season/week/destination
Weekly pallet allocation for cold storage facilities
Steri capacity and planning

Communicate estimated time of arrival (ETA) and potential constraints related to vessel planning, ensuring optimal packing schedules. Ensure vessel planning is conducted with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness. Manage stock allocation for containers and their respective target markets. Collaborate with the procurement and technical teams for accurate program management. Work closely with freight forwarders to ensure loading proceeds as per the planning, while also providing problem-solving solutions. Ensure that steri containers are scheduled in advance and that all protocols are strictly adhered to by both the technical team and the cold storage facilities.
QUALIFICATION: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, or a related field. Enrolment in a comparable degree or diploma program. 2-5 years comparable experience will be highly advantageous.
