The Council Utilities Administrator is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of municipal utility services for properties within the Johannesburg East Rand region. This includes handling tenant queries, liaising with municipal councils, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining proper records. The role requires a strong understanding of municipal processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.RequirementsA diploma or degree in Business Administration, Property Management, or a related field is preferred.Certification in municipal or utility management is an advantage.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within property management or municipal services.Proven experience in dealing with municipalities and tenant management.Own transport essential.DutiesMunicipal Liaison:Act as the primary point of contact between the municipality and the property management team.Handle all communications with the municipality regarding utility services, including water, electricity, and waste management.Ensure timely payment of municipal bills and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.Tenant Queries:Address and resolve tenant inquiries related to utility services, including billing, service disruptions, and usage concerns.Provide tenants with clear and accurate information regarding utility charges and services.Assist tenants with the process of setting up or terminating utility services.Billing And Invoicing:Review and verify municipal bills for accuracy before processing payments.Prepare and distribute utility charge statements to tenants.Track and manage utility costs to ensure they are within budgetary constraints.Record Keeping:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all utility transactions, including invoices, payment records, and correspondence with municipalities.Ensure compliance with relevant municipal regulations and reporting requirements.Reporting:Generate and present regular reports on utility usage, costs, and any outstanding issues to the property management team.Monitor trends in utility usage and identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.Issue Resolution:Proactively identify and resolve any issues related to municipal services, including service disruptions, leaks, or other utility-related problems.Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure prompt resolution of any utility-related repairs or issues.Desired Skills:Council administrationUtilitiesMunicipal queriesSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAdministrativeIndustriesStaffing and Recruiting
