Cost And Plant Accountant

My client is looking for an experienced Cost and Plant Accountant and play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and smooth operation of their business.This role is based in Isando, Johannesburg East.Key Responsibilities:Stock Management:Plan and organise regular stock counts.Report stock losses and gains accurately.Oversee and control all stock movements.Production Monitoring:Maintain and update the production journal.Monitor daily fuel and diesel usage and update the fuel/diesel register accordingly.Asset and Reporting Functions:Maintain and update the fixed asset register.Submit comprehensive weekly and monthly management reports detailing factory operations.Financial Operations:Manage invoicing, returns, and stock receipts efficiently.Oversee the factory's credit management functions.Compliance and Safety:Ensure adherence to OHS and food safety regulations in line with legislative and company policies.Team Leadership:Oversee employee key performance areas, identify training and development needs, and implement effective disciplinary actions when necessary.Requirements:A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team.In-depth understanding of OHS and food safety compliance is advantageous.
