Our mining client, is looking for an experienced Cost Accountant for their mine in the Rustenburg area. Role Description To ensure that costing transactions, inventory valuation, cost model and reconciliations are accurate and timely and all set targets for the Costing sub function are achieved. Education and Experience Requirements Degree in B. Com Accounting or equivalent qualification with Cost Accounting as major and related to the position. Postgraduate qualification in Cost Accounting will be advantageous. Minimum of 5 years' general cost and production experience in the mining industry. Accounting Systems implementation experience.(i.e SAP) Job Requirements Ensure accurate and timely cost allocations; maintain local costing master data to facilitate a comparable view of costing data across the Mine Operation. Execute Cost Accounting processes timely and effectively, ensuring operational discipline and strict adherence to internal accounting guidelines and controls. Execute month end costing activities including Inventory Valuation and maintain the assessment cycles for cost allocation. Maintain accurate costing model for the operation. Provide accounting expertise and skills to the operation; advising on accounting solutions to enhance or ensure the effectiveness of the operation. Ensure compliance to the Mine financial processes for Cost Accounting and capture related transactional data into the financial system. Review and request updates to Master Data as required. Analyse document flow and identify potential system risks and improvements. Guide Cost Accountant Administrator in accounting and audit standards that needs to be adhered too. Co-ordinates monthly cost forecasting and annual cost budgets Skills Required Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English Sound planning, leading and organisational abilities Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrate knowledge and skill in cash flow management principles and practices. Know and understand budget control principles and practices. Demonstrate knowledge and skill with regards to financial legislative requirements.
