Cook

Purpose of Position

We are looking for a Cook to cook at our care home in Long Eaton.
To cook a balanced, nutritious diet within a controlled hygienic environment keeping in mind the needs of the elderly residents.
To control systems of food allocation to minimise wastage.
To operate and supervise other staff in order that all purchases are controlled within a specified budget.

Key Responsibilities

To control stocks and purchases, thereby allocating the quantities of materials.
To maintain a balanced diet and varied menus.
To be aware of the care users' needs and dietary preferences.
To maintain the kitchen equipment, as specified by respective manufacturers.
To ensure that the kitchen is left clean after each use, at the end of each shift, leaving the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.
To ensure that the kitchen is kept in accordance with SFBB.
To ensure that opening & closing checks are done daily and recorded.
To ensure that meals are cooked in accordance with any allergies for each resident.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £11.44-£11.75 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
