Scope of work
An opportunity exists for a Contracts Specialist to join the Strategy team of our large mining client. Reporting to the Contracts Superintendent – but working closely with the Senior Contracts Specialist in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
Responsibilities

Supporting the Senior Contracts Specialist in the delivery of required contracts for goods and services to support mining related activity
Providing advice to senior managers within the business to mitigate contractual risk
Tendering, negotiation, analysis, award and management of Agreements for Good and Services.
Undertaking market intelligence to identify preferred contractors of required services.
Leading negotiations on terms and conditions with preferred suppliers
Providing support and advice to internal stakeholders, including the broader procurement team in relation to commercial related matters
Compiling Agreement documentation, recommendations for award and managing variations.
Placement and management of purchase orders
Resolution of invoice mismatches, disputes and claims

Qualifications

5 – 10 years' experience in a similar role providing full life cycle contract management services
Experience within mining, resources, heavy industries or construction (desirable).
Experience in a Coal Mine is a plus.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in a business, commerce, legal or engineering disciplines.
Strong commercial and business acumen
The ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
