Construction Site Manager (Temporary)

Fruitways is an agri-business that specialises in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.CONSTRUCTION SITE MANAGERThis opportunity is available for a technical orientated individual with experience in the Construction Industry. Reporting to the General Manager: Engineering, you will perform duties at one of our Packing Divisions in the Grabouw area and work closely with the appointed project team, consultants and contractors. Services will be required for the construction of new Controlled Atmosphere rooms at the Molteno site for an estimated construction period of 8 months, and one month following the practical completion of the project.Responsibilities:Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project, ensuring that the client's specifications and requirements are met and reviewing progressKeep the project team updated and informed on a daily basis regarding progressEnsure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulationsManage activities that could impact the environmentImplement Environmental guidelines (documentation and support from the appointed ECO)Manage and control site access and report incidentsRecord site activities, personnel and equipment on site on a daily basisReport and act on unsafe practices immediately to the appointed H&S OfficerCheck, measure and observe activities as requested by the project teamRecord and verify quantities measured on siteAttend and participate at site meetingsRequirements:Construction managementB.Eng, B.Tech, National Diploma or similar in Built Environment10+ years Practical experience in Civil and Structural Engineering disciplines and the construction of buildingsInterpret drawings and diagramsExperience with the construction of CA rooms or other cold storage advantageousOrganising and planning skillsExcellent communication skillsHighly skilled in Microsoft officeAttention to detail
