Position Overview: Construction Managers (CM) are an integral part of the team and key to the successful completion of field projects. They work in accordance with required contractual specifications, best construction practices, safety procedures, and Company, owner, and state and federal rules and regulations, ensuring compliance on all levels. They also provide direction to field personnel and assist in the onboarding, discipline, and separation procedures. Key Responsibilities: Interpret plans, specifications, and installation techniques, and convey them to field crews. Inspect sites and materials for quality, cleanliness, and safety. Ensure the highest level of workmanship from all team members and engage customers to assure their needs are met. Report to the Administration any required paperwork: daily reports, timesheets, incident and accident reporting, receipts, etc. Manage a variety of complex functional, operational, administrative, planning, monitoring, and appraising tasks. Problem-solve and keep field personnel motivated on a project-by-project basis. Merut Construction is now accepting resumes for a Construction Manager/Superintendent to oversee projects in the Warwick, Burrillville, and North Smithfield area. External Qualifications: At least ten (10) years of construction experience preferred. At least ten (10) years of experience managing utility construction projects preferred. Required Skills (include but are not limited to): Vast experience managing civil, utility, and state projects. Extensive knowledge about performing QA-QC audits. Safety focused. Must be an expert in underground and foundation construction. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Several years of experience at building and/or fabricating fence structures at the highest skill levels. Ability to multitask efficiently and shoulder a multitude of responsibilities. Ability to supervise crews to ensure high-quality workmanship and a healthy team environment. Ability to engage customers and associated contractors, meet their needs while negotiating the best terms for all parties. Ability to comply with and meet Company attendance schedule. Solid work history. Ability to prioritize safety. Ability to comply with and enforce all Company policies and procedures. Valid driver's license (CDL-A preferred, but not required). Ability to interpret blueprints. Ability to work long hours during busy times. Computer skills: Microsoft, email, form applications, etc. Physical Requirements: Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching. Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds at a time. Must be able to travel for extended periods of time in the Mid-Atlantic region, when needed. Must be aware of exposure to characteristic construction-site dangers. Must be on call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
