Conservation Co-Ordinator

DescriptionOur client, who operates in the Hospitality and Wildlife space, is seeking to employ a Conservation Co-Ordinator to their Conservation Experience Team.This role is based in Paterson in the Eastern Cape and is a live-in position.A wonderful career opportunity awaits you.Requirements:FGASA Level 1/ NQF2 / nature conservation or environmental education qualification and/or related tertiary education.At least 1 year experience dealing with big five game and volunteers.Code EB driver's license and valid PDP.SASETTA firearms competency.Valid first aid certificate level 1.DEAT and FGASA registered.4x4 driving preferable.People orientated personality.Good general knowledge of ecological management of game reserve.QGIS mapping will be advantageous.Responsibilities and expectations (but not limited to):Lead and conduct conservation projects, maintenance (roads/fences/alien vegetation/soil erosion) and fauna/flora monitoring with volunteers.Give lectures on various nature-based topics.Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of vehicles and equipment/assets.Participate in local community projects.Work in conjunction with the Wildlife Department.Work independently and unsupervised for the majority of time.Please note: should you not receive a response within two weeks of applying, you may assume that your application was unsuccessful.
