Job Responsibilities: Manage the Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions (SRP) commercial (business) risk associated with contractual customer and supply chain interaction around the sale and purchase of goods and/or services within SRP's business in Africa.Balancing the need for growth with the requirement for risk management to protect Sandvik shareholders from the impacts of under-performing contracts and exposure to liability, loss of business, reputational risk.Drive regional adherence to both SRP and Group commercial and contract management processes within the region.Work with sales & supply/sourcing teams within the business to formally manage the commercial risk assessment of all quotations and contracts.Input and assist with drafting of quotes and contracts ensuring the highest quality standards are met and compliance with Sandvik's processes and governance policies while meeting the requirements of the business.Review contracts/terms and conditions and produce qualifications and contract mark ups/changes in conjunction with key stakeholders and in alignment with defined minimum commercial and legal conditions and identifying potential contract risks.Work closely with the Legal department, drafting contract clauses, variations and other similar documents.Ensure contractual terms & conditions deviations are approved according to Sandvik policies and procedures.Coordinate the tender/quote process to ensure a correct, timely and compliant submission. Ensuring the necessary approval processes as mandated by the Sandvik Limits of Authority are completed (Quote Approval Requests and Contract Approval Requests).Participate in and/or lead contract negotiations.Engage various internal stakeholders to identify and manage commercial and contractual risks to ensure the viability and long-term profitability of the organisation.Mediate/coordinate/prepare communications with internal stakeholders where required, especially with the respective P&L owners.Drive the ongoing development of commercial management ways of working (using Sandvik tools/systems), process improvements, process mapping, quoting and contracting templates, and user guidelines.Ensure the administration of all commercial and contractual matters including bank guarantees/bonds.Train and embed commercial ways of working including facilitating audits to monitor compliance in the commercial processes, drafting & publishing commercial instructions and training & communicating such instructions.Establish and follow Contract Management processes in the CRM system ensuring contracts are loaded and managed in the Contract Management System in CRM.Ensure all main suppliers have Sandvik approved agreements in place in accordance with Sandvik sourcing/supplier policies and procedures.Fulfill any other task that can be reasonably and lawfully within the contemplation of the role.Qualifications & Experience Requirements: University Degree - Legal and/or Business degree(s).A post-graduate degree will be an added advantage.5+ years' experience in the review, preparation, drafting, negotiation and management of contract documents. (MANDATORY REQUIREMENT)Experience within the mining and/or heavy construction industries is preferred.Other Requirements & Competencies: In-depth understanding and knowledge of legal, commercial and contractual terms.Keen eye for detail and a perfectionist when it comes to grammar, syntax, punctuation and comprehension.A clear and well-developed understanding of contract principles and legal terms and conditions is a must.Experience in complex contracts for high-value supplies will be highly regarded.Excellent interpersonal skills.Able to build trust and establish respectful working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, by clearly communicating verbally and in writing, appropriately debating difficult issues and by being a quick thinker.Demonstrated capacity to work in a team & global environment.Able to manage your time effectively, adhere strictly to deadlines and prioritize without micro-management.This position is based in Spartan, Kempton Park.
