Minimum Requirements:Qualified Artisan; Fitter and Turner / Toolmaker / Millwright or appropriate trade.Experience with Victor Fanuc Controlled CNC machinesCAD/CAM skills with engineering draughting ability - Autodesk Inventor knowledge will helpManual programming experience is a MUSTAfrikaans fluency is requiredExtensive experience as a CNC Machine Programmer (Milling, Lathe and Robodrill) with preferably experience in machining of cast / casting parts.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, in particular all machining symbols and tolerancing.Ability to work independently and be a self-starterProblem solving abilityAttention to detail and ability to work accurately.Prepared to live and work in the town of Montagu, Western Cape or a nearby town. Montagu is approximately 2.5hrs drive from Cape Town.Computer literacyDuties / Responsibilities:Design and implementation of programs for new partsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, thereby understanding the required machining and being able to design the required machining path.Responsible for designing the jigs and fixtures to locate the parts in the CNC machines. The parts are not necessarily symmetrical, nor have ready or flat reference surfaces.Selecting the correct cutting tools for the jobWriting and loading the machining programMeasurement and verification of first articleDaily supervision of machine operatorsTraining and re-training of operators in their daily tasks of loading and removal of parts, basic measurement techniques and making adjustments to machine settings.Responsible for the operation and maintenance of 9 Fanuc Controlled Victor CNC machines (6 lathes, 2 machine centres and 1 Robodrill) at the factory in the town of Montagu, Western CapeTroubleshooting machine breakdowns and liaison with machine suppliers to return failed machines to service.Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program for the CNC machinesOperate within the guidelines of the companys quality control and document management systemSalary and benefits:A 13th cheque is paid in December.20 working days annual leaveA compulsory company pension, life, disability and funeral benefit an 8% salary deduction is matched by an equivalent company contribution to the pension fund; the life cover fully paid by the company is 2 years annual salary.
