Cnc & Machine Shop-Charge-Hand

We act for a leading manufacturing company in the Pietermaritzburg area, currently seeking a dedicated and experienced CNC & Machine Shop Chargehand to Supervise and manage the safe and efficient operation of employees in the Machine Shop & CNC Shop under their responsibility.
The preferred candidate will have the responsibility of ensuring all equipment is maintained, serviced, and operated to an optimal standard.
Key Requirements:Minimum N2 in a mechanical field.Recognized trade test as a Turner or Toolmaker.5 years' experience in a maintenance machine shop or tool rom.
Key Responsibilities:Ensure planned maintenance schedules are carried out as instructed, and where necessary assistance is given to the artisans responsible for carrying out the tasks.Attend breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs in the shortest possible time.Manage the CNC and machine shop team for efficient support to the factory artisans.Accurately record all work done on job cards or on planned maintenance schedules.Report all serious defects and/or defects which could not be repaired, to the Section Foreman or the Engineering Manager.Carry out safety inspections on equipment and plant as instructed.Undertake installation and modification of equipment and plant as instructed.Undertake any reasonable request of the Section Foreman or Engineering Manager.Standby cover.Overtime when necessary.
