DescriptionAs part of Investec Client Operations (ICO), the Investment Corporate and Institutional Banking (ICIB) Client Maintenance and Product Activation manage the ongoing updating and ensuring correctness satisfying the regulatory requirements around anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing.
They also manage the activation of products from client requests to ensure client activity within the division.
Using the Bank's risk-based approach, the department seeks to protect the Bank, by ensuring we have the most up to date information for each of our clients when updated information has been provided.
The department consists of a number of aligned and inter-disciplinary functions including; On boarding ("KYC"), Enhanced Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring, Correspondent Banking and Re-identification.The Client Maintenance and Product Activation Team is a highly specialised group that ensures all Client information is up to date and correct.
This encompasses the verification of information received, as well as ensuring that information captured is correct.
The team is fast paced and performance driven, focusing on delivering risk-based, effective delivery.
Client Maintenance services' support across the ICIB community of Investec.
Core Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities Client Maintenance & Product Activation Lifecycle: Updating of Client information on the relative systems and addressing any operational issues Actively complete the maintenance of the ICIB Product and Capabilities suite in line with strategic objectives through the provision of distinctive client service Ensure that operational and regulatory timelines are met and that any internal or externally derived breaches are fully investigated, documented and reported as appropriate or required by law Make use of formal and informal reports, as well as team and business engagement to review, and continuously improve processes and procedures.
Ensure that processes, procedures and standards are documented and kept up to date Direct liaison with ICIB Consultants, various trading desks consultants, ICIB Compliance team and other internal stakeholders over the phone or via email Monitor enquiries and requests from stakeholders to make sure they are dealt with and resolved in a timely and effective manner.
Able to thrive under constant pressure Relationship management skills Accuracy and attention to detail for all relevant maintenance requests Actioning of various important control reports in order to mitigate risk and compile information towards management information in certain instances.
Actively manage the ICIB product suite in line with the current strategic objectives, through the provision of distinctive client service.
Process the blocking and unblocking of accounts timeously and accurately within the acceptable policies and procedures Process all client maintenance requests in terms of changing of client information while ensuring the relevant FICA documents are verified and processed accordingly Maintain knowledge of relevant ICIB regulatory requirements and impact on the business, processes and clients To act with integrity at all times, embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly and deliver on our client experience principles.
Product Activation Lifecycle: Reviewing of KYC and Product application forms Correspondence with consultants/relationship managers Correspondence with On-boarding team Activation of products across core systems as per product specifications Education, Skills & Specialist Knowledge Knowledge and understanding of risk within a financial/banking environment Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Financial Intelligence Centre Act with Amendments (FICAA), Financial Advisor and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) and Exchange Control regulations Core Competencies Able to analyse and interpret information across multiple, complex data sets to form a holistic view Excellent written and verbal skills and able to communicate clearly, concisely and confidently with various stakeholders Confident in MS Office applications (including Excel up to Pivot table and formula level) Formidable problem solving skills coupled with attention to detail – able to make risk-based decisions Solid prioritisation, organisational and time management.
