Aon South Africa is recruiting a Claims Advocacy Consultant in our Advocacy team based, on a hybrid basis, from our Head Office in Sandton. The role of a claims advocacy consultant is to provide fast and efficient services to clients with the processing of the claims in supporting a bespoke product offering. The claims advocacy consultant must manage direct and mandated claims that will ensure client satisfaction, client retention and financial growth for the company.

What the day will look likeWork with Claims Advocacy Manager to ensure high quality, efficient and compliant delivery of all claims' servicing.Attend to claims referred to the Claims Advocacy team.Attend to rejections, disputes and contentious losses and provide support to the Claims Administration team on large losses above R 250 000. Appoints loss adjusters / assessors where mandated.Negotiate settlement with suppliers, Insurers or any other parties involved within the set mandate on claims that entered the Claims Advocacy team. Ensures the client gets the best settlement in terms of the policy.Prioritizes own work and works autonomously within defined boundaries.Accurately capture claims settlement information on the Aon Global Claims Advocacy platforms.Follow post loss process requiring corrective underwriting.Adhere to the minimum Quality and Service Standards.Responsible for engaging in business development and/or contributing directly or indirectly to all business development efforts in Aon South Africa.Providing guidance and advice to the Claims Administration teams, the Broking teams as well as clients on technical issues on claims and policies.Skills and experience that will lead to successQualifications: Grade 12 (Matric).A relevant bachelor's degree or;A relevant tertiary insurance related qualification.Registration with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS ACT.Registration as an associate with the IISA.Knowledge: Technical/Professional knowledge of insurance principles practices and disciplines.Specific Marine and Mining experience preferred.Have a working knowledge of risk analysis methodologies.Have a good understanding of the applicable legislative environment governing the insurance industry.Skills and Attributes: Well-developed team management skills.Developed team functioning skills.Good interpersonal relationships.Advanced analytical technical and problem-solving skills.Experience: A minimum of 5 – 10 years' experience in a similar or related role.A previous mandate to settle claims.How we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
