With more than 96,000 employees, SGS operates a network of over 2,600 offices and laboratories around the world.Job DescriptionA Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for:Laboratory Management production planning on site and meeting deadlines.Liaising with clients and relevant Area Manager.Ensuring reporting is correct before signing and distribution.Implementation of quality control systems and Health and Safety regulations in and around the laboratory.Adhering to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.Assisting the technicians and/or samplers with any job whether it is on site or inside the laboratory as per instruction from the authorized site supervisor.Performing any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the authorized Lab Manager and Area Manager.Following all SGS policies and procedures on site including but not limited to payroll, leave, disciplinary procedures.Providing training for all staff as training needs are identified.Ensuring all SGS mandatory (OI Toolbox/ Annual Integrity / Social Media etc) training is done as and when required.Sending all timesheets, claim forms and payroll instructions to the relevant departments timeously.QualificationsRelevant National Diploma and 3 years relevant experience, or relevant NQF 6 and 3 years relevant experience; Drivers License OR Grade 12 and 8 years relevant experience, or relevant NQF 4 and 8 years relevant experience.Additional InformationCompetent and qualified to do all tests (TMH 1 and SANS) in all laboratory divisions including soils and aggregate. Tests required onsite include moisture content, Mod AASHTO and Sand Replacement. Competent and qualified to do quality laboratory control and implementation. Competent and qualified to supervise and execute all field work. Knowledge of Health and Safety.
