Details of the offer

We are looking for a passionate individual who will effectively manage and develop client relationships within the different countries in which we operate, in line with financial targets with the objective of increasing company business. In addition, the Chief Operations Officer will be required to identify and develop new opportunities and products within the region and countries, manage the offices which have been opened and open new operations in accordance with the agreed Group Strategic Plan.
Job Objectives

Develop and execute the organisational strategy, including the development and alignment of regional and country business plans to the group strategy.
Manage and grow all work and operations within the responsible area.
Identify and develop new markets and services that can be provided and market and sell these to new clients in accordance with the company strategy.
In conjunction with the Country and Regional Managers, create, review and implement the business plans for each country and measure performance against these plans.
Provide technical input, review and mentorship and work as a technical expert on projects.
In conjunction with the Country Manager and Human Resources, ensure adequate resourcing and staffing is in place for each country.
Market and build the organisation's brand and service offering.
Grow our market share through upselling and cross-selling the organisation's services to new and existing clients.
Ensure that all work that is delivered is aligned to the organisation's methodology, systems and principles. This includes ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget and against our quality standards.
Evaluate and identify new country and company opportunities that are viable for the company to target and successfully establish offices or company purchase and integration into the company structure.
Effective people management, including development, recruitment, coaching and mentoring, disciplining, succession planning and performance management.
With the assistance of the Finance Team, ensure effective financial management of each Country, including budgeting, forecasting, analysis etc.
Reporting to the CEO.


Skills and Other Requirements

Applicable country legislation.
Environmental Management.
Financial Management principles and awareness, ability to manage projects and operations in accordance with budget.

Strategic Analysis.
Interpersonal skills (i.e., be approachable, patient, etc.).
Multi-tasking skills.
Time management skills.
International experience.
The successful individual must be willing to travel to each of the regions and countries in which the group operates.
Strong ability to mentor and develop employees.
Strong Business Acumen.
Time Management, adherence to strict deadlines.
Communication, both verbal and written.
Report writing, with the ability to communicate to all stakeholders.
Client Centric.
Ability to influence and negotiate.
Ability to work independently as well as within teams.
Innovative.


Experience

15 – 20 years in related environmental field.
15 - 20 years in an environmental consulting role (beneficial).
At least 10 years exposure to the mining and mineral resources industry.
10 - 15 years' experience in Executive management.
Proven business management experience at an executive or senior level.
Minimum of 2 years' experience operating at board level.
