Chief Geologist

RPO Recruitment is currently partnering with a leading mining company in Gauteng to find a highly experienced and qualified Chief Geologist to join their team.
As the Chief Geologist, you will play a critical role in the company's operations and overall success.
Responsibilities: Lead and manage the geology department, providing technical guidance and support to ensure the accurate evaluation and monitoring of mineral resources and reserves.
Develop and implement geological models and tools to optimize mining operations and maximize resource utilization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement exploration and development strategies.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Oversee and coordinate grade control activities to ensure accurate ore extraction and minimize dilution.
Requirements: BSc Honors Degree/BTech Degree in Geology.
5 - 8 years extensive practical experience in Geology in a mining environment.
Accreditation and Registration with Geological Society of South Africa (GSSA) and SACNASP.
Proven track record of successfully managing a team of geologists.
Extensive knowledge of mining software and geological modeling tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
