Chief Engineer - Cape Town, South Africa - Hilton Worldwide, Inc.

Manage hotel operations to ensure safety, security, conservation and compliance at high levels as Chief Engineer leading the Engineering Team.Key Responsibilities:Lead day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations, including service standards, equipment schedules and work schedules.Communicate with Housekeeping to coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities.Develop systems and procedures for Guest and Team Member health and safety, as well as plant and property conditions.Communicate with Government agencies to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.Prepare budgets for Engineering.Perform daily checks, diagnose and repair mechanical equipment, and conduct lift emergency release procedures.Maintain hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure safety and take action when necessary.Develop and direct emergency programs, implement energy conservation programs, and coordinate renovation bidding.Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.Requirements:Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.Degree in Engineering or similar.Exposure to budgeting and basic accounting.Positive attitude, good communication skills, and commitment to customer service.Strong leadership skills, previous experience of managing a team, and excellent grooming standards.Flexibility to respond to different work situations and ability to work under pressure.First Aid.
