This role is the primary point of contact within the region for Accounting and Finance policies, processes, and systems, ensuring both compliance and transformation within the finance function of a global company.
The role supports the ongoing evolution of finance processes, systems, and automation while maintaining compliance with global and local regulations.
The successful candidate will contribute to the transformation agenda by participating in finance system upgrades, process re-engineering, and data driven decision-making initiatives.
This role also plays a key part in supporting regional finance teams to adopt new systems and ensuring that the finance organization remains agile and compliant.Responsibilities:Finance Transformation:Partner with the Global Director of Finance Transformation to drive the continuous improvement and modernization of finance processes, systems, and technologies.Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at automating and optimizing finance workflows to ensure scalability and future-readiness.Support the roll-out of new finance systems, ensuring user adoption through training, go-live support, and ongoing system optimization.Analyze proposed system changes, assess the impact on processes and users, and recommend solutions for smooth transitions.Provide input on strategic finance technology initiatives.Compliance & Process Governance:Ensure compliance with global finance policies, local regulations, and tax requirements while driving process improvements.Conduct regular compliance checks and support subsidiaries in resolving questions related to finance policies and processes.Maintain and update global Accounting and Finance desk references and training materials to reflect evolving regulations and processes.KPI Management & Continuous Improvement:Serve as the subject matter expert for Cargowise (C1) and finance-related KPIs, leading the development and refinement of performance indicators.Manage the monthly review and resolution of KPI exceptions, ensuring data-driven decision-making and process improvements.Lead KPI-related training for finance teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve KPI reporting and accuracy.Training & System Support:Lead global training initiatives for new finance systems, policies, and processes, focusing on both transformation and compliance.Provide post-go-live support for finance systems (e.g., Workday Procurement & Expense, Cargowise) and assist with ongoing system enhancements.Engage in system testing, user feedback collection, and improvement efforts for newly released finance system functions.Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with Regional Controllers, Operations, and IT to ensure alignment between finance transformation goals and compliance needs.Act as a liaison between finance teams and system implementation teams to ensure successful delivery and adoption of new tools and processes.Communicate effectively with global subsidiaries, ensuring timely resolution of finance-related issues and the smooth adoption of new processesRequirements:Two years freight forwarding industry preferableCA (SA) or Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 years Accounting experience in a similar transformation and compliance roleAdvance Excel skillsAbility to become Wisetech C1 certified (CCC) once hired.
