Chamber Choir Director (Part-Time)

This top performing girls' school is looking to replace experienced senior staff. The following part-time (anticipated 1.5 hours per week) SGB-funded post is available from 01 January 2025: CHAMBER CHOIR DIRECTORApplicants must:have experience in choral conducting and working with choral groups, especially female adolescent voicesbe able to rehearse with the choir Tuesdays from 16h30-18h00, as well as occasional rehearsals on Friday afternoonsbe willing to prepare the choir for eisteddfods, competitions and other school or external functionsbe prepared to accompany the choir on tourshave the ability to work creatively with studentsDuties and Responsibilities:Conducting Chamber Choir rehearsals on a weekly basisAdministrative tasks relevant to running the Chamber Choir as instructed by the Director of MusicPreparing students for eisteddfods, external examinations and other school functions (hourly remuneration to be applied)Being involved in the extra-curricular music programme of the schoolOnly short-listed candidates will be contacted and invited to an interview and will be taken on a tour of the school and expected to take a rehearsal with the current choir.
