Job Description Overall Purpose:
Evaluation/assessment and verification of compliance with design and production standards for the issuance of type certificates, conduct type acceptance, approve changes in type design (modifications) and major repairs in accordance with approved procedures, approve and oversight design organisations, conduct engineering inspections, approve parts and appliances for use in aircraft, analyse aerodynamic performance on aircraft, conduct airworthiness assurance of issuance of experimental certificate, issue noise certificates, conduct engineering research including any ad hoc projects and also make recommendations on processing of applications and certificates. Coordinates, and conducts oversight on the design, development, and installation of aircraft systems, components, etc to establish grounds for airworthiness certification.
Site Visit and Inspections Plan and execute site engineering inspections and witness tests as demanded by the project to verify and ensure compliance with design and related certification standards. Perform facility audits for the issue, amendment, and renewal of design organisation approvals. Perform surveillance/oversight and safety inspections on approved design organisation. Aircraft Certification
Conduct type certificate, acceptance/validation of foreign aircraft, technical standard order authorisation, environmental certification (noise) and any other aircraft certification and safety related assessment.

Conduct type certificate, acceptance/validation of foreign aircraft, technical standard order authorisation, environmental certification (noise) and any other aircraft certification and safety related assessment.
Research and Review
Proactively research, develop and propose specific standards, guidance material, notices, application forms, checklist, letters, certificates, regulations as assigned by the manager.
Documentation Review
Review all relevant documentation in relation to all activities within the position function in terms of legislative requirements, procedures, guidance material, etc.
Cost Recovery
Ensure completed projects have been appropriately invoiced and verified.
Job Requirements Qualification:
Minimum Engineering diploma (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical)
Ideal: Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical)
Experience:
5 Years - Aircraft Systems/Flight Test Engineer, CAA Airworthiness/Manufacturing Inspector, Aircraft design or manufacturing environment
