Position: Capex/Indirect Lead - ZAReporting to: European Indirect and Capital Senior ManagerGeneral Job Description:This position is based in Uitenhage, South Africa. Reporting directly to the European Indirect and Capital Senior Manager, this position is responsible for rolling out the purchasing strategy through the cost-effective procurement of production goods and services within the specified portfolio of suppliers, and supporting commodity teams and operations. The role will be responsible for the Toolstore.Role & Responsibilities:Understand the business and product needs for pricing and sourcing and ensure that sourcing recommendations align with Plant and Global Commodity Strategy for respective commodities.Establish and execute strategies for assigned commodities.Obtain and analyze quotes to determine best value.Recommend sourcing solutions based on data and facts collected.Attend Global Commodity Management calls for assigned commodities as plant representative.Understand and effectively utilize key cost drivers and industry-related events for assigned commodities.Formulate annual business plans for achievement of cost reductions and year-over-year performance improvement.Manage and negotiate supply agreements that require improvements in suppliers' cost, payment cycles, technology, and/or risk mitigation.Initiate renegotiation efforts well in advance of contract expiration and monitor industry trends to anticipate opportune timing to lock in contracting advantages.Monitor performance of the suppliers to ensure attainment of objectives.Coordinate supplier selection.Lead supplier transitions and resourcing.Identify opportunities for leverage of volumes and purchasing power.Support the purchasing function for Customer Project Launches.Ensure and monitor the results and contribution of the assigned commodity to departmental and corporate objectives.Present special assignments results, project updates, and such to Dana management as required.Lead and manage capital procurement per regional and global requirements.Manage Toolstore Buyer.Responsible for the purchasing strategy through the cost-effective procurement of goods and services within the special portfolio of suppliers, in support of the Toolstore and Operational Requirements.Education:Bachelor's degree in Purchasing/Logistics or Engineering.Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is essential.Experience:5-7 years related professional experience.Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).Additional Skills:Able to motivate and influence people.Ability to interact with Management at all levels.Excellent verbal, interpersonal & written communication skills.Core Competencies:Strategy – Ability to think and act in a strategic way:Demonstrates sound business and technical acumen.Shows a high degree of intellectual rigor during problem solving.Talent – Ability to build and develop talent:Able to align skills to the company's strategy.Shows evidence of continuous learning.Approach – Ability to demonstrate an effective approach to engagement and problem solving:Able to build trust and engage others.Can build or contribute to an inclusive team environment.Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications.Results – Ability to achieve planned results:Demonstrates a customer focus through planning and actions.Acts with initiative.Shows the ability to be a change contributor with adaptability and continuous improvement.Ability to hold oneself and others accountable for results.Dana Spicer Axle South Africa (Pty) Ltd is committed to an organizational culture that recognizes and values inclusion and diversity.
