Let me fetch the job description for you...Capacity and Availability ManagerLocation: MidrandDescription:RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensures that appropriate levels of monitoring of resource capacity and system performance are executed, and that the information recorded in a configuration management database (CMDB) is kept up-to-date and used by all parts of the Capacity Management process.Provides regular management reports, which include current usage of resources, trends, and forecasts.Contributes to reports on performance against targets contained in Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Maintains a knowledge of future demand for IT resources and associated SLAs and predicts the effects of demand on performance service levels.Determines when system resources should be tuned and makes recommendations to IT management on the design and use of system resources to optimize their use.Provides resolution recommendations to performance-related Incidents and Problems.Ensures that there is sufficient capacity to meet service level targets.Provides capacity requirements for new or modified IT services.Maintains an overall understanding of current service capacity and trends.Produces and maintains a Capacity Plan.Assesses the capacity impact of new change requests, Problems, and Incidents.Participates on the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as needed.Is responsible for monitoring IT capacity levels, comparing actual levels against targets, and addressing shortfalls.To provide subject matter expertise to understand the causes and effects of availability faults and issues to assist in the delivery within specified SLA (Service Level Agreement) and business requirements.To participate in the creation of availability requirements for new and modified IT services to ensure the design of new or modified services meets company and customer requirements.To participate in the evaluation of third-party supplier components and services to ensure availability and the services meet company and customer requirements.To participate in Service Availability Assessments by providing and assessing technical infrastructure on end-to-end services.REQUIREMENTS:Driver's license with reliable transport (Compulsory)FORMAL EDUCATION:Related Tertiary QualificationsAn M+3 Qualification would be an advantageITIL Foundation Qualification would be an advantageEXPERIENCE:At least 4 to 5 years Capacity Management experience (Essential).Proven record of accomplishment of at least 5 years' experience in the IT industry.Previous experience in Capacity Planning, Reporting and Availability technical role solutions are crucial.Being able to translate business needs into technology solutions.Proven ability to understand the dynamics of technology.Experience in Mainframe and Open Systems.SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:Problem Solving skills.Professional reporting skills.Communication skills: ability to express clearly, articulate and encourage open communication.Effective interpersonal presentation and interpersonal skills.Customer relations skills: keep closer to the customer to build relationships.Collaboration skills: build closer relationships with key managers, grasp opportunities for growth and profitability, and be sensitive to the needs of business.Understand different forecasting techniques and the appropriate application for different scenarios.Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and broadly.
