JOB PURPOSE AND PROFILE: The candidate engineers will perform all aspects of engineering activities that result in progress in technology and engineering applications under supervision as prescribed by Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) at the level of candidate towards registration as an engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee infrastructure project implementation from the start through to completion of projects implemented within the strategic CETA partnerships, ensure the completion of work on time and within budget. Provide supporting role in the operational, delivery and monitoring of contracts and provider performance on special projects and strategic partnerships. Support the Specialist for Special Projects and Infrastructure; in negotiating contractors' orders and monitor contractors' performance in line with relevant regulatory contractors frameworks. Provide support in contract creation, execution and analysis of strategic partnerships projects and other special projects as required. Work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of the building process from hiring contractors to working with engineers, architects, and vendors. Prepare internal and external reports relating to project status and progress, estimates, deliverables, and safety statistics within required timelines. Assist in conducting project site visits to monitor compliance with safety and building regulations and implement public safety measures. Provide technical support and advice to stakeholders. Attend and address all stakeholder queries timeously and effectively. DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Project Management or equivalent qualification. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Report writing and presentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Teamwork. Service Delivery oriented. Attentive to detail and accurate at all times. REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS: Remuneration for this role is in terms of Council for Built Environment (CBE) Gaps and Limitations of the Engineering and Related Professionals Occupation Specific Dispensation (OSD) policy.
