Overview Hire Resolve's client, a well-established Food and Beverage company located in Paarl, is seeking a dedicated Buyer to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and supplies to support efficient production operations.
Responsibilities Gather data and prepare negotiations (content and organizational aspects)Research suppliers and raw materialsCompare prices; assist in maintaining price tools with lead buyersSend out contracts, check order confirmations, inform lead buyers of changesPrepare, create, maintain, and track contracts in SAPCreate and maintain supplier and material master dataEfficiently manage samplesHandle administrative processing for complaints in consultation with lead buyersProcure raw materials/packagingGenerate Purchase Orders and ensure timely deliveryExpedite deliveries; resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other issuesCoordinate with Planning team for material planning and accurate projectionsCoordinate with accounts for vendor paymentsLeverage existing procurement strategies, contracts, and relationshipsBuild strategic relationships with key suppliersLead localization of raw and packaging materialsConduct internal/external price benchmarkingMaintain price tools in consultation with lead buyersPeriodic appraisal of suppliers; take necessary action on non-performing suppliers Requirements: Relevant Tertiary qualification in Procurement or Supply ChainMore than 4 years of professional experience as a Buyer in the Food and Beverage industry(Flavours advantageous)SAP experience (Essential)MS.
