The buyer will form part of a Category Management team responsible for the development and execution of the Category Procurement strategy, with a specific focus on sourcing of Mechanisation Equipment & Spares.
Requirements:
Preference will be given to candidates with a relevant Bachelor's Degree / National Diploma / Trade.
Specialization in Procurement & Data Analytics would be an advantage.
+5Years experience in a Mechanization environment
Demonstrated negotiation skills.
Proficient in use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Power-point).
Advanced MS Office Excel skills required.
Excellent verbal and writing skills.
Own transport and a valid driver's license
Must be prepared to travel for work purposes.
Must be willing to work long hours during peak times.
Responsibilities:
Acts as the company's central point of contact for Mechanization related suppliers.
Develops and maintains sound supplier relationships with the Mechanization suppliers.
Negotiates ad hoc purchase prices and term deals with suppliers.
Resolves pricing discrepancies and claims with Mechanization suppliers.
Assesses supply and quality risks and evaluates supplier capacity and capability to ensure supplier selection supports the execution of the Category strategy.
In conjunction with the Category team, establishes seasonal demand and procurement plans.
In conjunction with the Category team, establishes optimal stock assortments per branch.
Records and maintains accurate purchase price files in the ERP system.
Continuously screens the Category supply market to identify sourcing optimization opportunities.
Proactively identifies and communicates Category specific supply constraints to the business to be prepared for and to minimize supply disruptions.
Participates in Category specific product development initiatives.
Identifies and drives opportunities to rationalise products and to reduce complexity.
