Business Unit Manager: Coatings and Construction Background and Role

IMCD South Africa is looking for a driven, meticulous person to lead our Coatings and Construction Business Unit by developing and driving sales strategies for optimal growth in Sub Saharan Africa. The successful candidate will be based at the IMCD's Randburg office reporting into the Managing Director.
Person Profile: Targeted Skills & Capabilities The ideal candidate will:
Have a Bachelors degree or higher, in Science and/or Commerce with between 10 – 15 years relevant sales experience. Proven experience of raw material requirements in the Coatings and Construction Industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be resilient, and able to multi-task and work under pressure. Be solution focused. Have high independence and self-motivation. Be computer literate. Experience in a multinational company on operational level will be an advantage. Enjoy travel. The position is responsible for: Leading and developing the Coatings and Construction team in Sub Saharan Africa to achieve the Company's strategic goals in these regions. Preparing the Annual Business Unit Budget and accepting responsibility for attaining it. Monitoring monthly progress against both income and cost budget. Co-ordinating sales activities by leading, training and motivating the sales team. Market intelligence: Monitor market trends and competitor activities for your area of responsibility. Purchasing: Guiding Principal Managers to ensure an optimal stock holding. Development and implementation of principal management strategy. Market Development: Continually encourage the development of new products in the market and monitor and develop sales strategies for these new products. In addition to the above, you will be expected to promote the Company's activities and image both locally and abroad and to serve the interests of the Company and its Principals to the best of your ability at all times. Expected Qualification/Education: Bachelors Degree or higher, in Science and/or Commerce
Work Experience: 10-15 years relevant sales experience Proven experience of raw materials in the Coatings and Construction Industry Primary Job Location: 275 Oak Avenue, Ferndale, Randburg
Travel: Around 40%, as needed to the various regions.
