Purpose StatementThe Payments team oversees all payment products, including both Card and Electronic Payments. This encompasses the entire payments landscape, covering systems, processing, and business aspects.
Within this framework, the Payments Data Strategy team is dedicated to managing all data-related activities. Our focus areas include data strategy, forecasting and predictive modeling, insights and business analysis, as well as monitoring and reporting.
By utilizing data analysis and visualization tools, the Business Intelligence Analyst will generate actionable business insights that drive tangible value for the organization. This roles involves influencing and supporting the organization in making data-driven decisions that enhance performance, optimize operations, and drive growth.
Our ideal candidate has:Minimum: Experience: At least 5+ years' experience in a similar business intelligence analyst role Experience and knowledge of the ETL (extraction, transform, load) data flowExperience in identifying, quantifying, and subsequently delivering value on how to solve business challenges using data Experience in analysing complex data sets to solve business challenges Experience in working with data on cloud platforms, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure Experience in building data visualisations using tools such as Power BI A good understanding of database management, data warehousing, data mining and data visualisation. Experience with stakeholder engagement inc. senior managementExperience in data quality and incident management Understanding of agile project management and experience with tools such as Jira Qualty assuring and oversight of the work of others.Key Responsibilities: Insight Generation: Provide data-driven insights that inform strategic and operational decision-making.Trend Analysis: Analyze trends to influence business and operational decisions, ensuring the organization remains competitive and responsive to market changes.Decision Support: Deliver insights that lead to informed and effective decision-making at all levels of the organization. Knowledge: Understanding of agile project management and experience with tools such as Jira Knowledge and experience in using complex SQL to prepare and analyse dataKnowledge and understanding of data privacy and security regulations and best practices Ideal: Probably experience as a business intelligence analyst within the Banking sector Knowledge of change management principles and practicesKnowledge and experience in using low/no code AutoML on modelling tools such as Power BI or AWS Sagemaker Knowledge and experience in change management methodology (ADKAR) Knowledge and experience in lifetime value analysis, propensity modelling, journey mapping, and root cause analysisApplied knowledge of User Experience (UX) reviews through customer interactions a customer, product services Knowledge and experience in automation using software robots built on platforms such as UiPath or Alteryx Programming/Coding: Ability to use scripting languages such as Python or R for data analysis and manipulationBasic knowledge and experience is using Version Control (Git) Education (Minimum)A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration or StatisticsEducation (Ideal or Preferred)Certification in Business Analysis or SimilarSkillsCommercial Thinking SkillsFacilitation SkillsNumerical Reasoning skillsPresentation SkillsAdditional InformationClear criminal and credit record Capitec is committed to diversity, applications to this position will strictly be considered in support of our employment equity goals.
