DUTIES : The duties include but are not limited to the following: a) Focusing on achieving budgeted sales by: Conducting Marketing visits throughout the City, Province and Country where necessary.
Establishing appropriate sales representative route, schedules and areas of marketing focus.
Assisting with the compilation and implementation of a marketing strategy designed to meet the budgeted sales and growth rates.
Gathering customer information and their requirements.
Advising and recommending stock levels and product range.
Gathering pricing information, compilation of tenders and quotations.
Developing relationships with customers to position the company as a preferred supplier in their minds.
Compiling tenders, quotations and proposals.
Tender submission and proposal presentations to clients.
Drive positive customer service through appropriate attitude and action.
Results orientated and sales focused Support and motivate sales staff, both internal and external, ensure customer visitation, budgets achieved, projects/quotes follow up and overall service delivery.
Develop and implement strategies with the other market segment managers and product managers Assist the marketing department with marketing Strategies.
Organise continuous customer and staff training sessions.
b) Understanding the technical, quality and delivery requirements of the jobs to ensure customer expectations are met.
Collecting relevant technical books and brochures to building up a technical data base to understand the group products as well as those from competitors.
Attend workshops and marketing seminars.
Liaison with other sales personnel.
Establish a program to manage sales staff, including mentorship and training programs.
Formulate sales policies and procedures.
c) Smooth and effective processing of orders/contracts into production by: (i) Reviewing orders and contracts to fully understand the commercial, technical and financial aspects in orders to limit risk on the company.
(ii) Liaison with planning and production departments.
(iii) Tracking progress of orders to satisfy customers.
d) Organising an effective Administrative System by: (i) Maintain documentation with regards to tenders, quotations, client visits, queries, customer satisfaction reports in a well-documented neat and accessible system.
(ii) Assisting administration and sales departments for month end stock and sales figures and closing off.
(iii) Submit written monthly reports by the 30th of each month in the agreed upon format, including trip reports/customer feedback.
e) Develop and grow the marketing function of the company by: (i) Providing insights into the market and assisting with strategic positioning.
(ii) Developing and building the company band name (iii) Developing and maintaining the sales function, as well as related systems and processes f) Develop a spirit of co-operation and teamwork with Management and peers by: (i) Representing the companies with no other side interests or moonlighting.
(ii) Undertaking the sales function by liaising with all personnel (iii) Agreeing costing and selling prices based on overall company policy.
(iv) Any other duties required by management KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Reaching pre-agreed budgeted sales, gross margin and gross profit ratios.
