Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager Mining & Metals – Southern Africa to join the team in Johannesburg. This individual will be responsible for leading the development of the overall Southern Africa region, covering South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Angola and Zimbabwe, and deliver on the assigned target objectives for new business and key renewals.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Experience leading and developing people.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to talk to and present to a range of audiences, sometimes acting as a translator between parties.
Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach.
The ability to work under pressure on multiple projects within your project timeframes.
The ability to motivate others and lead change.
A passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change.
A strong interest in business and business development.
Experience dealing with senior stakeholders.
Hands-on mindset with a can-do attitude.
Required Knowledge and Work Experience
Proven success leading and contributing as a technical project/program manager in diverse projects ranging in scale from local to global impact.
Must have previously supervised or managed direct reports.
Exposure to, and preferably operating experience in Southern Africa.
Experience and demonstrated success in working in a cross-border, international, matrix structure organization.
Experience selling complex solutions B2B to multinational companies in a relevant, global environment.
Proven track record in customer focus, exposure to customer top management, product management driving results and turning opportunities into sales successes.
Experience of living/working in an emerging market would be an advantage.
Able to demonstrate relevant experience with Metals & Mining.
Experience within the TIC industry preferred.
Valid South African Work Permit.
5 -10 Years work experience.
Speaking English being a must / Speaking Portuguese being a plus.
Required Qualifications
Grade 12 with Maths and Science.
Marketing/BD/Science qualification/Technical qualification related.
Computer literacy (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and working knowledge on LIMS).
Proficiency in English (read, write and speak).
Valid driver's licence.
