Job Title: Business Development/Account Manager Brief Description of the Position: The Business Development/Account Manager role at Westech entails building and growing the client base by proactively engaging with clients to ensure superior service and added value.
Responsibilities include strengthening client relationships for long-term partnerships, collaborating with the technical team to provide expert support and advice, and driving awareness initiatives across products, services, and technology trends to enhance customer capabilities.
Performance Measurement/Statistics: Total value of sales accepted Total value of sales invoiced Client queries handled Client review meetings Client engagements Compliments Complaints Key Responsibilities: Account Management: Generate and act on client leads, conduct audits, generate SLA agreements, and present proposals Convert leads into sales, ensuring appropriate SLAs are in place Conduct client audits for quotations, SLA renewal, and IT recommendations Maintain client relationships post-sales Develop and implement proactive engagement strategies to foster client relationships Anticipate client needs and support IT infrastructure development Coordinate technical team response for key account customers Generate and present sales reports and critical business information to clients Research and monitor the market and competitive landscape Develop accurate sales forecasts demonstrating market and customer-specific knowledge Exceed sales and customer experience goals Build partner and supplier relationships Business Development: Identify sales growth opportunities across segments and industries Create business development plans to pursue new clients Network and attend relevant forums/events to generate client sales Act as a brand ambassador for Westech Stay updated on industry trends and technical developments Research potential customers and develop lead lists Determine sales strategies and goals for products and services Key Performance Measures: Responsiveness, problem-solving, customer satisfaction, and long-term relationship building Promoting client growth and revenue streams Maintain accurate client records Develop strategic marketing plans with internal teams Understanding of products and service offerings Creating referenceable clients and customer lifetime value Achieve sales and lead generation targets Ensure customer and supplier satisfaction and service quality Required Proficiency Levels on Competencies: Qualifications/Knowledge: Minimum Matric qualification with a strong background in sales and account management within a technology environment Sales/IT or office administration qualification would be an advantage Experience: 3-5 years experience in technology sales and customer relationship management High-Level Competencies/Capability Requirements: IT hardware & software knowledge Computer literacy & proficiency Influencing and networking skills Strong interpersonal and relationship management Problem-solving and customer service skills Business writing/report writing Organizational skills and attention to detail Systems knowledge and administration Location: Sandton, Johannesburg Workplace Type: On-site Salary: R25,000 to R30,000 plus commission
