DescriptionInvestec is looking for a technical Business Analyst within the UK Offshore Technology division.
The role will involve project and business as usual deliverables and providing application support.
Experience, skill and capabilityDelivery• Write and maintain business specifications.• Produce functional documents like process/data flow diagrams, system configuration changes and consider best practice operational controls and business continuity• Participate and drive technical design sessions with IT architects when required, before compiling the functional specifications• When applicable, create and document test scenarios for testing purposes• Participate in the full SDLC process but responsible for managing the entire delivery – from understanding the requirements, to documentation, managing the change with developers, testing of the change, logging the change control and review the changes post deployment• Involved in general day-to-day production application support and operational requests from business – data and system specific queries and the resolution of them• Manage stakeholder expectations and priorities effectively• Build and maintain strong communication with the other IT teams and Business Units• Strong knowledge of the Agile methodology Expertise • Demonstrate the appropriate level of competency in systems and business analysis• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and deliver to milestones• Ability to deal with pressure and remain level headed• Ability to be flexible and adjust to change in priorities quickly• Ability to interact with people from IT and the Business• Take ownership of tasks and projects assigned• Follow issues/concerns through to delivery/solution• Client focused attitude• Demonstrate the ability to work well in a team• Effective and clear communication to all users and stakeholders Education, skills and specialist knowledge• An Information Technology or Commercial degree• 5 + years working as a Systems/Business Analyst preferably in the Banking or Financial industry• Ability to write SQL queries to retrieve data from databases• Strong communication skills (written and spoken)• Strong interpersonal skills• Strong facilitation skills• Ability to manage stakeholder expectations regarding requirements• A proactive mind-set focused on identifying and mitigating risks and resolving issues• Ability to collaborate and facilitate attainment of the best possible solution for the situation• Ability to conceptualise big picture while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy Advantageous• Scrum master experience• Provide reporting on all features and projects• Project Management experience• Exposure to Azure/ Cloud environments • Business Intelligence (BI) skills • Collaboration & productivity tools skillso Azure DevOps, Miro, and Confluence The Investec CultureAt Investec we look for intelligent, energetic people filled with passion, integrity and curiosity.
