RPO Recruitment's client, an international producer of fertilizers, is currently looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team of professionals in Paarl.
In this position, you will be responsible for a wide range of bookkeeping tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury management, inventory costing, and assisting with basic accounting functions.
Responsibilities Accounts Receivable: Process customer invoices and assign payments.
Manage customer accounts and track outstanding balances.
Perform collections activities to ensure timely payments.
Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and assign payments.
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable.
Reconcile accounts payable statements.
Treasury Management: Manage company bank accounts and monitor cash flow.
Prepare and disburse payments.
Reconcile bank statements.
Inventory Costing: Maintain accurate inventory records.
Assist with calculating inventory costs and assigning costs to inventory.
Basic Accounting: Assist with recording daily financial transactions.
Prepare basic financial reports (e.g., general ledger, trial balance).
Close out accounting periods (monthly, quarterly, annually).
Requirements Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience.
Proficient in bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero), Business Central is preferable.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with inventory costing methods (FIFO, LIFO, etc.).
Knowledge of South African VAT regulations.
Experience in a similar industry a plus.
