Boiler & Kiln Superintendent, Stutterheim

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria: Grade 12 / NTC3, with relevant technical experience and ability with tools and mechanical workings, if not trade testedStrong experience in the operations of Boilers : General operations, Technical experience, Maintenance, RegulationsExperience in timber Kiln Drying would be advantageous: Kiln drying operations, Schedules, Quality ControlA minimum of 5 years experience in a boiler operations environmentMedically fit with sober habitsProficient in MS Office skills in Excel & MS OutlookCode EB license with own transportWilling to work irregular hours and perform standby dutiesWilling to work overtime, incl weekendsMust be able to communicate in English (speak, read & write), Xhosa will be an added advantageThe successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:Running the daily activities of the Boiler & Kiln operations at both sites, including technical & maintenance oversightEnsure compliance of all plant, machinery and auxiliary equipment to relevant statutory health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations, as well as company policies & proceduresControl of spare part inventories, and critical sparesMonitor and control costsManage training and development of departmental employeesEnsuring and improving the performance, productivity & efficiencyManaging all staff in accordance with labour laws and company policiesEnsuring a high-level housekeeping standard in the departmentSalary: Market related
