Job Description:
The role is responsible for operating, setting, and maintaining single and two-stage injection stretch blow moulding machines, specifically Nissei, ASB, and Sidel. This includes ensuring optimal machine settings, performing fault analysis, and contributing to high-quality product output in alignment with production goals.
Reporting Structure Reports to: Maintenance Manager & Production ManagerDirect Reports: NoneKey Responsibilities Technical Setup and MaintenanceSet up and operate Nissei, ASB, and Sidel injection stretch blow moulding machines for single and two-stage processes.Adjust machine settings for optimal cycle time, efficiency, and quality.Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and perform fault analysis.Conduct maintenance of moulds, material feeders, and dryers.Monitor product quality and perform adjustments to meet specified criteria.Maintain a sound understanding of technical drawings, mould installation, and equipment performance.Fault Analysis and Problem SolvingPerform fault analysis for product quality issues, machine malfunctions, and mould-related problems.Work closely with the maintenance team to resolve technical issues on the production floor.Liaise with external suppliers as needed for additional support.Production OptimizationContinually optimize machine settings to improve production cycle times and reduce waste.Ensure process integrity and record new settings for future reference.Assist in developing and implementing maintenance checklists and schedules to ensure machines run efficiently.Inventory and Spare Parts ManagementMonitor and manage stock levels for spare parts related to Nissei, ASB, and Sidel machines.Work with the Maintenance Manager to order parts and evaluate the need for keeping spares in stock.Ensure spare parts are available for planned maintenance and unexpected breakdowns.Quality and ComplianceApply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensure compliance with the company's quality standards.Adhere to Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) principles and report any hazards to the appropriate managers.Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications.Health & SafetyEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations, especially within the area of responsibility.Maintain housekeeping standards around machines and work areas.Report any accidents, incidents, or safety hazards to management.Project Involvement and Continuous ImprovementAssist in the development and execution of projects aimed at enhancing the performance of the blow moulding machines.Propose improvements to production processes to increase efficiency and quality.Stay updated on new technologies, particularly innovations related to Nissei, ASB, and Sidel equipment.Job Requirements Education: Minimum N2 in Tool, Jig, & Die trade theory; Red Seal certification preferred.Experience: 5+ years of experience in setting and operating single and two-stage injection stretch blow moulding machines, particularly Nissei, ASB, and Sidel.Skills:Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Strong fault-finding skills and technical problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of injection moulding and blow moulding processes.Familiarity with quality control principles and equipment maintenance.Competencies Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Nissei, ASB, and Sidel blow moulding equipment.Skills: Machine setting, fault finding, and equipment maintenance.Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, decision-making, and ability to work under pressure.Special Requirements A passion for sustainable packaging solutions and environmental considerations.
