Blockman

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Blockman to join their dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting, portioning, and presenting meat products in a professional manner, ensuring high quality standards are met while adhering to safety and hygiene regulations.
Responsibilities: Cutting, trimming, and preparing various types of meat for display or sale, including beef, pork, poultry, and fish.
Ensuring proper portioning and packaging of meat products according to customer orders or store specifications.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including sharpening and cleaning tools and equipment.
Monitoring stock levels of meat products and reporting shortages or ordering as necessary.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, including proper storage and labeling of all meat products.
Assisting customers with selections, providing information on product availability and cooking techniques.
Collaborating with other departments to meet customer needs and optimize service.
Skills: Excellent knife skills with the ability to cut and portion various types of meat accurately and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail to ensure consistency in portioning and presentation.
Knowledge of meat cuts, different preparation techniques, and product shelf life.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Strong communication and customer service skills, ensuring positive interactions with customers and team members.
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy products when needed.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Blockman or in a similar role within a butchery or meat preparation environment.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in butchery or food handling is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
Strong work ethic and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
