Primary role is to ensure that the bid submission adheres to legal, safety, and quality standards while meeting the client's technical and financial requirements. Produces and delivers compliant, competitive and compelling bids/proposals/tenders to customers.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:5-8 years administering tenders in an Electrical Engineering or Construction Environment3-5 years supervising a team within a sales/bids environmentExperience in developing leads and researching potential clients.Experience in reading and analysing requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for quotation (RFQs).RESPONSIBILITIES:Bid Management:Identifying opportunities on which to submit bids and feeding into the decision over whether to bid for the work.Devising a successful strategy for winning a bid, including pinpointing the unique selling points (key differentiators) of your organisation, knowing your company's operating and profit margins, and understanding the client's specific requirements (the client in this case is the organisation that is offering the work).Manage and oversee the preparation, submission, and follow-up of bids and proposals.Collaborate with engineering, legal, finance, and project management teams to gather required input for the bid.Researching, writing and/or checking proposals.Review requests for proposals (RFPs), (RFQ) & (RFI).Compliance Monitoring:Ensure that all bids meet regulatory, legal, and technical compliance requirements, including safety, environmental, and industry standards (such as ISO, NEC, IEC, etc.).Stay updated on changing laws, codes, and standards in the electrical engineering industry to ensure ongoing compliance.Risk Management:Identify and assess risks related to non-compliance in the bidding process and project execution.Advise on risk mitigation strategies to ensure adherence to industry standards and avoid legal repercussions.Client Requirements and Specification Analysis:Analyze bid specifications and client requirements to ensure alignment with company capabilities and compliance obligations.Coordinate with internal departments to gather necessary compliance documentation, such as certifications, quality assurance documents, and environmental clearances.Coordination and Communication:Liaise between departments, ensuring that all technical, legal, and compliance aspects of a bid are understood and integrated.Act as the point of contact between clients, suppliers, and internal teams on all compliance-related issues.Documentation and Record-Keeping:Maintain records of all bids, contracts, and compliance documentation for auditing purposes.Implement and manage a system to track compliance obligations and deadlines.Post-Bid Activities:If the bid is successful, briefing the teams who will carry out the project work.Assist with the transition from bid to project execution, ensuring that all compliance aspects are integrated into project delivery.Conduct audits or reviews to confirm that the compliance requirements in awarded projects are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.Training, Guidance & General:Train internal bid teams on compliance requirements and best practices related to bidding.Provide guidance to the team on any new regulations or compliance requirements.Establish, maintain and build strong customer relationships with a consultative sales approach.Provide regular sales pipeline updates and reporting on all aspects of the opportunities to management.Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post as required by the Managing Director.Meet annual Bids/sales targets.
