Winning Form has an exciting opportunity available for a BI Analyst to be based in Umhlanga, Durban. The successful incumbent will be responsible for creating ad hoc exception reports, analyzing business data and generating insights that support decision-making processes across the organization. Your role will involve creating interactive reports and dashboards that drive business performance with the ability to present findings and insights back to the relevant stakeholders.
Minimum requirements:
2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role
Experience in Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, and building complex dashboards.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, power query, data modelling, and automation (VBA/Macros).
Experience with ETL processes and integrating multiple data sources.
Understanding of statistical analysis and data mining techniques.
Advantageous:
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Data Science, or related field
Experience with SQL
Knowledge of business intelligence tools & methods.
Familiarity with other data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik)
Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Gather, clean, and analyze large data sets through automations such as power query to extract valuable business insights.
Create, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel.
Utilize advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, visuals, and data modelling, to perform in-depth data analysis.
Conduct financial analysis to assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Business Insights & Recommendations:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data requirements.
Present key findings and actionable insights to stakeholders to inform business decisions through live reporting.
Track and measure the effectiveness of business initiatives through detailed performance analysis.
Data Modelling, Data Flow, and Forecasting:
Develop and optimize data flows in Power BI and Excel for forecasting, trend analysis, and scenario planning.
Ensure the quality and accuracy of data sources.
Help formulate a data flow that allows easy access to required data for the ops team to build out ad hoc reports.
Stakeholder Management:
Partner with different departments (e.g., finance, sales, operations) to provide analytical support and develop customized reports.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to understand business challenges and offer data-driven solutions.
Process Improvement:
Continuously review business processes and suggest improvements based on data analysis.
Leverage automation tools in Excel, Power BI, and other tools to enhance reporting efficiency.
